If I'm having a difficult day, sitting with the trees always calms, relaxes, and refreshes me.
I look at the bark, with all its scars, and marvel at how it heals itself and keeps growing.
I watch the branches and leaves swaying in the breeze and allow them to soothe me, as rocking in a cradle would do.
I marvel at the variation of greens in the landscape, and the brilliance of colours that show up in the fall on some.
When the blossoms come forth in Spring, they are spectacular.
Many produce edible fruit or berries that feed and nurture our health as well as the birds and animals that happen past.
Spots such as this, with a mix of evergreen and deciduous - cedar, birch, willow - are cool, relaxing, and comforting to be in.
The air is easier to breathe.
I seek them out as often as I can. They allow me to detach from the chaos and see once again in my mind that nothing is permanent.
Everything changes.... even the chaotic life we are living in these times will not last forever.
